In 2010 Dana Donofree was a 27 year old living a rock star life with a fashion design career that had her flying all over the world. She was killing it in the fashion industry. A breast cancer diagnosis created a snag in Dana’s life, but she didn’t’ allow it to unravel her career. She was inspired by it. Dana couldn’t find a bra that comfortably fit after her Bilateral mastectomy, so she designed one. When Dana realized she wasn’t alone and there was a gaping hole in the market, she decided to create intimates and a supportive community designed by and for breast cancer survivors, metavivors and previvors. A decade after selling the first bra, Ana Ona and Dana Donofree are thriving, continue to double business year over year, sell out collections and premier annually at NY Fashion week in partnership with Metavivor.

A Non Alcoholic Toast to Caregivers, Survivors & Entrepreneurs with this episode’s signature cocktail, The AnaOno Bralè created by LaTonya. Cheers.
The AnaOno Bralè
Ingredients
For the ginger syrup
· 1 cup thinly sliced peeled fresh ginger
· 1 cup light brown sugar
· 1 cup water
For the cocktail
· 2 large navel orange
· 2 teaspoons of sugar
· 6 oz Ritual zero proof whiskey alternative
· 2 oz ginger syrup
· 2 oz Lyres Amaretti
· ½ cup juice from navel orange
· Mini clothespin garnish clip
· orchid
Preparation for the ginger syrup:
In a small sauce pan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil and then simmer for approx. 15 min. Remove from heat. Let steep until cool then strain through a fine mesh sieve. Can be refrigerated up to a week.
Preparation for cocktail:
Combine zero proof whiskey alternative, ginger syrup, amaretti, and orange juice in a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously then strain over ice into two glasses. Place an orange slice caramelized side up each glass Optional: hang an AnaOno bra from mini clothespin garnish clip and attach an orchid. Feel free to replace the Ritual Zero Proof with your favorite bourbon if your heart desires it. xoxo
